With just over four weeks to go until Halloween, I, like most gamers, have started to look for some of the spookier titles on the market to fill our Autumn evenings with gore, tension and plenty of jump scares. It seems Red Barrels have answered our prayers with the release of the Outlast 2 demo which is now available for free on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Available until November 1st, the demo aims to give players a sneak peek at what Red Barrels have been working on since the critically acclaimed Outlast was released in 2013.
With the game set for release within the first quarter of 2017, details have been kept largely under wraps.
What we do know is that the story follows Blake Langermann and his wife Lynn, two investigative journalists following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman. The investigation leads the characters miles into the Arizona desert that is filled with corruption and darkness.
The first Outlast was arguably one of my favourite survival horror titles in recent years and based on this demo, the follow up will be just as gut-wrenching and terrifying. Roll on 2017!
